Ryou woke up a few hours later, and Bakura was still sitting in his chair. "Kura what time is it?" he asked.
"About 3:30 why do you ask?" he replied.
"Because I had plans to go out today."
"You're not going anywhere today Ryou."
"Why not?"
"Well let's see, the streets and roads are covered in snow, and you were coughing up blood a few hours ago."
"I feel much better now Kura."
"Humor me please Ryou."
Ryou looked at his yami and saw the sheer amount of concern in his narrow crimson eyes. "You can come with me if you don't think I'm fine, alright?"
"I don't know Ryou, I'm not entirely sure you're well enough." Bakura stood up and walked over to his fluffy hikari to check for a fever.
"See I'm fine, please Kura it'll be fun." Ryou looked up at his yami and smiled. Bakura sighed but gave in.
"Alright what are we doing?" Bakura asked.
"We're meeting up with people at the mall," Ryou replied.
"Who?"
"Well let's see, Yugi and Yami, Melvin and Marik, Duke and Tristan, Joey and Mai, Seto and Serenity,  and Tea."
"Well this'll be so much fun," Bakura said sarcastically.
"If you don't want to come you don't have to," Ryou said.
"No chance hikari, I have to make sure you'll be ok. But if the psycho or the pharaoh try anything I will kick their asses."
Ryou laughed, and said. "If that'll make you feel better Kura I won't argue." Bakura smiled at his hikari not expecting him to react like that.
Ryou and Bakura got dressed than wandered to the mall. They met up with their friends and everyone seemed happy. Ryou noticed that the other two hikari's were scanning him. He walked over to them, and separated them from their yami's.
"Hi Marik, hi Yugi, how are you too?" he asked.
"We're fine Ryou, are you okay, we came over to visit and Bakura told us you were sick," Yugi responded.
"Yeah I was just coughing up blood for some reason but I feel fine now," Ryou smiled at his friends. They shrugged and rejoined their friends. The group walked around the mall and everything was totally normal, except the fact the Bakura was hovering protectively around Ryou. No one seemed to notice except for Ryou, Marik, Melvin, Yami, and Yugi. Ryou stopped suddenly and no one else noticed except Bakura.
"Are you alright Ryou?" he asked.
"I'm fine Kura but I was wondering why you're being so protective of me."
"I just want to make sure you're ok, and make sure you stay safe."
"Kura what's gotten into you, this isn't like you at all." Bakura blushed deeply, and looked down at the floor.
"You might find this hard to believe Ryou, but I do care about you." Ryou raised his eyebrows. "Alright, Ryou I mean every word I'm about to say, ok?" Ryou nodded. "Ryou I love you, I truly do, and it's not because we're hikari and yami, I can't believe it's taken me this long to realize it. I love you Ryou and nothing can change that." Ryou was stunned but only for a moment, then he hugged his yami.
"I love you too Kura, you have no idea how long I've been waiting for you to say that." Bakura looked down at his fluffy hikari and smiled and Ryou smiled back. Then Ryou's smile turned into a look of pain and he started coughing up blood again, he passed out, and Bakura caught him.
"Ryou?! Can you hear me please wake up!" he yelled but to no avail. Their friends and others gathered around them. Bakura looked down at his hikari's pale limp body in his arms, there was blood leaking from his mouth again. He started sobbing and fell to the floor with Ryou still in his arms.
"Don't leave me please," he sobbed. "Ryou please come back to me I'm begging you."
"Ryou!" he yelled again but with no effect.
